Vilakku Poojai

Vilakku Poojai is a cherished Hindu ritual primarily practiced in South India, especially in Tamil Nadu. It involves the worship of a lamp (vilakku) and holds significant spiritual and cultural importance. Vilakku Poojai is often a community event, with family members and friends gathering together to participate, reinforcing bonds and shared values. Specific prayers and mantras are recited to invoke blessings from the deities  A clay or metal lamp is filled with oil, and a cotton wick is placed inside. The lamp is then lit during the poojai.  Devotees often offer flowers, fruits, and sweets alongside the lamp. These offerings enhance the ritual’s beauty and significance.
